3RD TO 4TH GRADE TRANSITIONAL PROGRAM:
Where we support students in navigating the transition successfully both on and off the field! Our program is designed to help students develop new social and life skills while having fun and forming lasting friendships. Through a variety of interactive activities and mentorship, students will grow academically, socially, and emotionally, preparing them for a bright future ahead.
5TH TO 6TH GRADE TRANSITIONAL PROGRAM:
Welcome to our 5th to 6th Grade Transitional After School Program, where students transition successfully to middle school academically and socially. Through activities like touring the school, meeting staff, and learning locker skills, students grasp middle school life expectations. They engage with 6th-grade material, STEM projects, sports, and socialize with peers from different elementary schools. Gain the confidence and skills needed for a smooth transition and a successful start to middle school!

The focus of this program is to create well-rounded students: Health, Wellness, & Study Skills. With the help of Meriden Public Schools staff; participants are acclimated to high school responsibilities and expectations by being provided with homework/study skills help/peer mentoring, as well as healthy lifestyle activities and information.
CTP has met with Platt and Maloney administration to identify some of the biggest problem areas incoming freshmen students face, and have tailored this program to address those areas. Some of the topics identified are:
● Respecting yourself, teachers, and others
● How to conduct yourself in a “Bring Your Own Device” environment
● Social Media best practices
● Time management
● Personal goals
● Post graduation success
● Mindfulness
● How to use a Chromebook and other high school educational programs/applications
