Born and raised in Connecticut, Jason Teal graduated from Maloney High School and attended Hampton University majoring in Mass Media.
Mr. Teal joined Clear Channel Communication in 2003 adding leadership to the Hartford and Boston radio clusters. He played an intricate role in launching the Urban radio station Power 104.1 (WPHH) in Hartford CT; as an Account Executive he created innovative marketing programs for the station’s clients. He was shortly promoted to Clear Channel Boston in a Senior Account Executive capacity where he developed creative impactful campaigns for the clients of JAM’N 94.5, one of the largest Urban radio stations in the country, and Top 40 format pioneer Kiss 108.
In 2009 Mr. Teal launched his business development company, which provides services to small companies. In April of 2012 the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) contracted Mr. Teal to coordinate the efforts of the NAACP State Conference office where he executed several major events statewide as well as at the NAACP National Convention. Currently he serves as the President to the Meriden / Wallingford NAACP Branch, NAACP State Economic Development Chairman, Director of Sales & Marketing for 8&9 Manufacturing (8&9 MFG), and Executive Director of Change The Play Inc.
As President of the Meriden/Wallingford NAACP, Mr. Teal resurrected the struggling civil rights branch increasing its visibility, impact, fundraising capacity, and influence in the community. Some of President Teal’s NAACP accomplishments include: creation of the Meriden/Wallingford NAACP Health Fair “Get Out and Play”; this event highlights sports and activities to stay healthy; while raising awareness to chronic diseases andillnesses in his community. Get Out and Play is currently one of the largest NAACP Health Fairs in the country, drawing over 2,000 attendees. Implementation of diversity initiatives with the school system leading to the first African American Administrator hire in the last 20 years. Chairman of the CT NAACP Great Debate - 3,000 Connecticut High and Middle School students attend a debate on relevant social issues featuring a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) versus an Ivy League institution. CT NAACP Urban Business Expo, an educational and networking event that attracted over 100 Connecticut based businesses and independent contractors. Chairman of the CT NAACP Harmony Classic, a football game between a HBCU and a Connecticut based school to promote diversity, harmony, education, and health.
As Director of Marketing and Sales for 8&9 Manufacturing, Mr. Teal overseas wholesale and develops the brands Cause Marketing initiatives. 8&9 MFG is one of the most successful Miami based fashion brands, retailing in roughly 700 doors worldwide and through the brand’s thriving ecommerce site. 8&9 MFG is currently a consultant and partner providing valuable resources to Change The Play Inc.
Change The Play Inc.; founded in 2013 by Mr. Teal is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that utilizes interest areas to create programming for at-risk youth focusing on Education, Healthy Lifestyle Choices, and Identity.

Over 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry, Mr. Bivins is a founding member of New Edition & Bel Biv Devoe (BBD). New Edition is one of the most successful male R&B groups of all time, and BBD is most known for arguable one of the greatest club records of all-time, “Poison”. Bivins discovered Boys II Men, a group who joins New Edition as one of the most successful R&B Groups in the world. He is a recipient of the Soul Train Lifetime Achievement Award and has just produced a biographical mini series titled “The New Edition Story”, which documents his successful musical life. Rafael “DJ Lus” Rasorio

DJ Lus AKA "The Dominican Kid" hails from Lawrence Massachusetts where he's known for his unique style of blending Spanish and Hip-hop to entertain parties and the airwaves. Rafael has DJ’d on iHeart Media and Greater Media commercial radio stations in Boston Massachusetts and Hartford Connecticut. As an on-air jock and Rafael has worked on the highest rated radio shows in his market as well as the largest Urban stations in the United States. Besides his radio mix shows DJ Lus works the club scene 4-5 nights a week spinning in the top clubs and events worldwide. Internationally known DJ Lus has entertained at parties in Brazil, Russia, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, New York, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. Along with his club credentials, he has worked with some of the biggest Hip-hop and Latin artist such as: Pitbull, Trey Songz, Sean Paul, Don Omar, and Daddy Yankee. Originator of the Street Video Mix, DJ Lus translated his unique blending style to video creating a new age mixtape.
Chris Harris, Ph.D.

Dr. Christopher Harris is an Associate Professor of Communication in the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences at Nevada State College. He hails from central New Jersey and earned his B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University in 2001. He then attended Cornell University’s graduate program in Africana Studies, receiving his Master’s in Professional Studies (M.P.S.) degree in 2004. After taking several years off from school to run an innovative after-school program for inner-city middle school children in his home town, Dr. Harris conducted his doctoral studies at the University of Miami, graduating with a Ph.D. in Communication Studies in 2010. Dr. Harris has been an active member of the NSC community since his arrival—contributing to numerous strategic planning committees; representing the school on state-wide initiatives on diversity, ethnicity, and inclusion; and serving a term as Faculty Senate Chair. He achieved tenure in 2016 and is the acting the chair of the Social Sciences department.
Dr. Harris’s research interests include Black American music and culture (particularly rap and neo-soul), the operation and dissemination of discourse in contemporary society, and media portrayals of ethnicity/race. Dr. Harris has won top paper awards at both the Broadcast Educators Association and the National Communication Association annual conventions; is a co-author of an article on the portrayal of women of color by reality television published in the International Journal on Women’s Studies; and recently published an article on teaching content analysis and critically vigilant media consumption in Communication Teacher.

Evelyn has a Double Masters in Reading & Gifted Education. She has worked in education over 40 years in various capacities. She began as an Elementary School Teacher, then worked for ACES as a Technology Director where she served as a consultant training teachers how to use technology in classroom. She was also an Education Specialist where she consultant on Education for teachers in the Best Program - which helped Para-Professionals with their teaching certification. She then went on to be a 6th Grade Language Arts Teacher at Thomas Edison Middle School, a STEM Magnet school located in Meriden CT. She is a product of the NAACP & Meriden Board of Education’s recruited program, where they were in search of talented teaching professional of color to migrate to the city in the 70s to help with diversity issues in the school system.
